ENIAC #1 – “Not First Printing” / 2nd Print – Bad Idea Comics

Own a piece of modern indie-comics history with ENIAC #1, the debut issue from Bad Idea Comics.

Written by Matt Kindt with artwork by Doug Braithwaite, colors by Diego Rodriguez, and cover art by Lewis LaRosa with Laura Martin, ENIAC launched Bad Idea’s unusual direct-to-comic-shop publishing model in March 2021.

The story follows two covert operatives racing against time to stop ENIAC, an artificial intelligence with roots stretching back to World War II, after a mysterious countdown signals a potential global catastrophe.

This copy is what collectors commonly call the second printing, although Bad Idea deliberately used the term “Not First Printing.” These later printings were intentionally made to look nearly identical to the first printing; the first printing was distinguished by specific UPC/indicia markings and a subtle cover-color difference.
